We found this interesting article about who drinks the most coffee. We were wondering what the South African list would look like? We would love to hear your comments.
American Article – Scientists drink more coffee than school teachers, and food-service workers down the most joe of all. That’s one take-away from a new survey commissioned by Dunkin’ Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked-goods chain, and CareerBuilder, a job-search website. The survey was released as National Coffee Day (Sept. 29) draws nigh, and one objective is to determine the coffee consumption habits of various professions and how the “daily grind” fits into the workplace (to filch a felicitous phrase from the Dunkin’/CareerBuilder press release). Dunkin’ and CareerBuilder said their survey was conducted from Aug. 13 to Sept. 6, and it included more than 4,100 workers nationwide. Some survey findings: 43 percent of those who drink coffee claim they are less productive without a cup of joe, and 28 percent said they drink three cups of coffee or more per work day. And surprisingly (to at least one observer), nurses drink more coffee than newspaper reporters.
Here are the 10 top professions for coffee drinking, according to the survey.
1) Food Preparation/Service Workers
2) Scientists
3) Sales Representatives
4) Marketing/Public Relations Professionals
5) Nurses (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
6) Editors/Writers/Media Workers
7) Business Executives
8) Teachers/ Instructors (K-12)
