Dear Coffee Lover,
Any job has perks. Mine happens to be the tasting of interesting coffees, from around the world. Tough job.
Hanno has been able to source different coffees from Ethiopia. We now stock Sidamo, Yirgacheffe and Limu. What I find interesting, is how the acidity differs in the three coffees. Sidamo has the least acidity, followed by Yirgacheffe and then Limu with the most. As you might know, the level of acidity in coffee will indicate whether the coffee is more suited as an espresso or a cappuccino (or drink with milk added). For an espresso, coffee with a lower acidity is ideal, whereas for a coffee drink, which has milk added, higher acidity works well. The milk brings down the acidity of the coffee.
The Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is a difficult coffee to source and we are very fortunate to have been able to stock it. You can now order any of the Ethiopian coffees through the Strictly Coffee Club http://strictlycoffee.co.za/coffee-club.html.
We have also given more information about the Ethiopian coffees on our blog. Subscribe to the blog for more information on coffee http://strictlycoffee.co.za/blog/.
Let us know what you think of the coffees, ordering system and speed of delivery – we’d love to improve any of it, if needs be.
